Over Pressurization Unit is a general purpose gas compression system and can compress Nitrogen or Argon gas from 3000 PSI (~200 Bars) to 12,000 PSI (~800 Bars). It can be used with any Ground-to-Air missile training system with little adaptation. In present configuration, it may be used with Mistral Weapon System.

System function and description
The unit draws low-pressure purified Nitrogen or Argon gas from commercial containers and compresses it to a pressure of 12,000 PSI through single stage compressor. This high-pressure gas is then injected into small cylinders, specially designed & fabricated for installation in a specific weapon system. On activation this high-pressure gas is transferred into the Infra Red seeker chamber of the weapon system to lower its temperature. This low temperature enhances the sensor’s sensitivity.
The unit comprises of the following main assemblies:
Outer glass fiber chassis: This chassis contains central body, front cover and rear cover. The rear cover includes a set of accesories. The chassis is installed with retractable wheels.
Inner aluminum chassis for rack mounting: This inner chassis is suspended in the outer glass fiber chassis for the installation of following different racks:
- Filling rack: This unit enables the positioning of the small cylinder bottles required which are to be filled.
- Electrical rack: It enables the control regulation of the Over Pressurization Unit and displays various states of the equipment.
- Pneumatic rack: This rack provides Argon gas distribution from the inlet to the different outlets via the compressor. It also controls the gas flow through various relief and control valves.
- Over-pressurizer rack: This performs the pressure increase from the supply pressure of 3000 PSI (~200 Bars) to 12000PSI (~800 Bar).

Adaptability
The Over Pressurization Unit can be adapted to any weapon system operating up to a maximum of 12,000 PSI (~800 Bars) through the use of various adaptation units.
Under the default configuration, the unit can directly replace the Over Pressurization Unit [Part Number 0886242G00] in Acquisition and Training Practice System (ATPS) of the Mistral Weapon System, a Ground-to-Air missile system by MATRA, France.
Documentation and training
The unit comes with a complete set of operational and maintenance documentation. Training can also be arranged on request.
